Texans are blessed with abundant wildlife in our endlessly diverse wild places. The earliest people lived in a primitive paradise, harvesting fish from the rivers and streams and game meat from the woods and plains and marches. The land provided what they needed to thrive, and they adapted their lifestyles to make the most of the available natural resources.
Today, some Texans find themselves feeling the pull of those timeless pursuits. They've heard and read stories, maybe even had a brief encounter or two when invited along with friends on past hunting and fishing excursions. Trying it out on their own can feel daunting, but with a little help and guidance, they can be wetting a line from a kayak or riverbank, waiting in a hunting stand for that one buck or participating in a skeet shoot.
