Dr. Lewis Bliss has been in private practice in the Sacramento area since 1986, treating thousands of patients for eye disease and performing thousands of ophthalmic surgeries. Dr. Bliss graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas, Medical Branch and completed his internship at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospitals in New Orleans.

He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry. Dr. Cook graduated with honors and was awarded "Outstanding Student Clinician of the Year" for his graduating class.

I am 89 years old and very hard of hearing. I also have difficulty understanding the terminology used by doctors when the are explaining my problem and follow up care. Dr. Jerome Brendel is the exception. He talked facing me in a tone I could hear and gave explanations of my problem in a way I could understand and took time to clarify my understanding.
