I have more than 20 years experience working with individuals and couples in short and long term in depth psychotherapy. My clients struggle with depression, anxiety, loneliness, relationship challenges, questions around life direction, life purpose, personal identity. Oftenthey report feeling "stuck, " frustrated in their creative expression or in their ability to change or move forward in their lives.
I try to look at each individual's strengths (ask how we can build upon those), and also look at where a person is getting in his or her own way. I offer weekly or twice weekly psychotherapy sessions. These are dynamic conversations designed to facilitate insight, awareness, and change. Please call or email me for an individual or couples consultation, to ask further questions or to discuss your situation.

About Me
Report
I have been practicing psychotherapy in private practice for over twenty years in San Francisco. I received my doctoral training in child and adult psychotherapy at UCSF/Mt. Services Provided
Report
I most often work with individuals or couples once or twice weekly for 50 minutes sessions. The duration of therapy very much depends on personal needs and interest. Some clients come into therapy with a very specific problem they wish to address, others come wanting to explore many aspects of their personality or behavior or are seeking a more open-ended inquiry into larger life questions.
Rates & Insurance
Report
Many of my clients choose to pay out-of-pocket for their psychotherapy. Insurance companies require me to provide information about symptoms and diagnosis they may limit coverage based on specific definitions of medically necessary. Many plans have high deductables which must be met before any coverage is available.
