In an environment that embraces the beauty of nature and cultivates respect for it, Bayou Village School prepares children to meet the challenges of our world and the future with clarity of thought, a caring heart, and the confidence to initiate change. The original location was in two Houston Heights bungalows that soon were too small.
Meet Our Leadership

Education is not a race where the prize goes to the one who finishes first. To help young children develop a lifelong love of learning we need to respect and strengthen their individual abilities. Maryoceane began her journey into education at a young age and knew early on working with children was where she was meant to be.
Waldorf Education

Waldorf Education has its roots in the research of the Austrian scientist and thinker Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), who is also the father of biodynamic farming and organic architecture. According to Steiner's philosophy, the human being is a threefold being of spirit, soul, and body whose capacities unfold in three developmental stages on the path to adulthood: early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence.

Bayou Village School is committed to the principle that every child should be able to attend our school. We offer a program for tuition assistance to help families meet the expenses of private education. Bayou Village School is nonsectarian and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and national or ethnic origin in its administrative or admissions policies.
