Established in 2015, John Riley Pottery represents over a decade of dedicated craftsmanship and artistic evolution in Washington, DC. Our founder began his journey as a painter before discovering ceramics in 2008, later refining his skills through formal apprenticeships and specialized workshops with renowned potters across the United States. Each piece embodies the intersection of functional artistry and natural inspiration, drawing from both DC's urban landscape and Nebraska's rural beauty. Our high-fire stoneware and porcelain creations combine traditional techniques with contemporary design, featuring hand-carved details, custom glazes, and wood-fired finishes that ensure durability for generations. With extensive experience in gas and wood kiln firing, we maintain strict quality standards while embracing the unique character variations inherent in handmade ceramics.
