And in our opinion a YEAR ROUND fishing playground for terrific saltwater king salmon, summer & fall silver salmon, and rockfish fishing and the all around favorite COMBO charter fishing trip for multiple species. With ice free seas and mild winter temperatures Homer is an ideal location close to Alaska's largest population area where anglers who just can't get enough fishing now have open water opportunities all year long.
In fact, we are on the water 200+ days a year! Leaving 2020 Behind - Hey Folks, Captain Shane here. For everyone on the planet last year was one most folks prefer to forget. Driftwood Charters survived the storm and kept both boats running full time for the duration of the summer season and the winter transition was smooth with lots of feeder king salmon and tanner crabs for our clients.

What's that you say? What are Pentanglers and a Pentathalon fishing trip? Leave it to Captain Shane of Driftwood Charters in Homer to be creative for his clients with more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Seriously. So where does the PENTATHALON trip come in. The crew got a limit of Black rockfish making up 80 pounds of pure fillets as you can see on the deck and then in the fish tote in the second photo.
Homer Winter King Fishing
Report
The fishing trip below was an outing just before Halloween of 2014 with some beautiful weather and water. As you watch the video it has a killer ending to the day's fishing action. The following video is a nice example of a good day of winter king fishing on the water. The ALASKA OUTDOOR JOURNAL editor went along on this day to document the trip for their video fishing report.

As the 2015 summer season begins to wind down many Alaskans turn their interests to hunting. But there is still plenty of fishing going on in September in Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay. This year the KTUU Weekly Fishing Report team are putting the finishing touches on their own season before old man winter arrives.

Welcome to our Fishing Hall of Fame, better known as our Photo Gallery. We have grouped the images for specific portions of a year so that the viewer can take a look at what fish are available during the time when they plan to go fishing. This photo collection is just a representation of what our clients have caught and there are far too many trip photos to get them all posted here.
