Tri-Valley Conservancy
Tri-Valley Conservancy's mission is to "promote economically sustainable vineyards and orchards, and increase permanently protected, biologically diverse open spaces." The Mission guides our work through our Strategic Plan with updated goals and new methods to protect our critical lands.

Our goals include safeguarding urban growth boundaries, conducting studies to support agricultural sustainability, and engaging the next generation with the outdoors. We primarily accomplish our Mission with conservation easements to protect a land's valuable natural resources forever. Conservation easements can offer landowners with a flexible, voluntary alternative to subdividing or developing their property.

Protect Land
Report
We all need open space so we have food to eat, parks to visit, fresh air and clean water. The first step to protect critical places like farms, vineyards, ranches and even wildlife habitat and land for parks is to preserve it forever with a conservation easement. When important unprotected open space is threatened, we can defend it through land use planning and public outreach.
Preserving Land
Report
Thanks to supporters like you, Tri-Valley Conservancy has helped preserve thousands of acres of open space for agriculture and parks. More than 500 acres have been acquired with the help of Tri-Valley Conservancy's funds and grants but many more acres have been preserved forever through conservation easements.
South Livermore Valley
Report
The SLVAP allows property owners to subdivide their properties into 20 acre parcels providing that they place their property under Agricultural Conservation Easement. The SLVSP requires that one acre must be preserved for every house built and for every acre built on, an additional acre must be preserved i.e.
Sale of Property
Report
Sale at fair market value is the sale of property for the price a knowledgeable buyer will pay for the land. However, two major considerations should be kept in mind. Most conservation agencies are often unable to purchase land at fair market value as they have insufficient funds available for the buying of land and must be particular about their purchases.
Transfer of Title
Report
A conservation easement protects the property against the destruction of natural resources or open space by setting limitations on the use of the land. Conservation easements usually are permanent and apply to all future landowners. Easements are either granted or sold to a qualified public or private organization that will be responsible for the long-term enforcement of the easement prior to the transfer of property.
