We are dedicated to offering safe and effective training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for children and adults of all genders, levels, and ages. Our school atmosphere is one of openness, where beginner students are guided along their new jiu jitsu path, and more experienced students can sharpen and grow their game.
Our goal is to keep our students safe while trying to instill in them the passion, respect, and humility inherent to the gentle art. Holy City Jiu Jitsu was established in 2016 under the name Devine Jiu Jitsu Charleston. We have a wonderful variety of instructors coming from different lineages, affiliations and professional backgrounds.

In order to maximize the safety of our students, we will maintain increased sanitation efforts, and all classes will take place with the fans on and doors open for better ventilation. Clean gis and personal hygiene are mandatory. All surfaces will be disinfected before and after class. We ask that students train at their own risk and use their judgement.

It is well known that building jiu jitsu proficiency is a long road. Even though techniques can be acquired relatively quickly, learning how to apply them on a fully resisting opponent takes longer to achieve. As such, students often encounter specific problems that require targeted focus from an experienced instructor.

We have students of all ages, shapes and sizes, from couch potatoes to seasoned athletes. No experience is necessary. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment where everyone can learn. We encourage everyone to give the gentle art a try - the first week is free, no strings attached! Whether you are new to jiu-jitsu or to martial arts all together, we will accommodate you.
