Omega Charters is celebrating our fifteenth season in operation. Captain Greg is a 100 gross ton master captain. He started fishing at the ripe age of four when his dad purchased his first of four fishing boats. We ventured to Quincy Massachusetts for the insane flounder fishing of the mid to late '70s, and after that, it was game on all over the northeast targeting all species in season.
1980 saw captain Greg's first canyon trip at the age of ten, and the rest is history! Doing between 10 to 20 overnights a season since 1980, the captain knows his tuna! He has been running his own boat for over fifteen seasons, heading to the inshore grounds as well as the canyons. We target all species in season!

Inshore
Report
We target all inshore species in our area including Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke, Porgy, Sea Bass, Cod, Flounder, and the Captain's favorite Black Fish. The boat record is 14.36 pounds, and many double-digit fish have come over the rails. Inshore trips typically leave at 7 AM and return at 3 PM. Captain Greg has been commercial black fishing for 14 years, so we know where they live!
Stripers and Bluefish

With the striped bass sometimes showing up as early as late April we target trophy stripers and bluefish. We employ trolling, chunking, and occasionally live bait depending on what the fish are biting. We always try to give out customers the best chance of catching fish, therefore most of these trips start in the early morning at 7 am and return around 3 pm.
Overnight Canyon

These are typically 36-hour trips. We leave the dock around 8 AM, returning the following day in the late afternoon. These trips consist of trolling, chunking, jigging and any other method it takes to catch a fish! When the mahi-mahi are present we will target them and if the time allows tilefish are always an option.
Meet the Captain

Captain Gregory (Greg) Savino was born in the Bronx and raised in Westchester County New York. Greg was introduced to fishing at a young age by his father. From his introduction in the 1970s Captain Greg has never stopped. He loves the sport of fishing and nothing makes him happier than seeing a client's smile after they catch a giant.
