Job Description: I am the volunteer coordinator, event coordinator, and membership coordinator. I also help out with Hotline admin and Rescue & Transport.
Emergencies
Report
As humanity spreads across the desert valley, more and more animals fall victim to injury and illness. Valley residents stand a good chance of encountering wildlife that needs help. If you are not sure if an animal needs help or have other questions about wildlife, please visit our 'Animal Care FAQ' page.
Caring for Injured Animals
Report
If the baby bird is gaping its mouth for food, you can soak dry puppy or kitten food in water until it is spongy. Squeeze out the excess water and offer a bit of the food to the baby on the clip end of a pen cap. This is the only food you should offer. An injured or stressed bird will not eat. Injured hummingbirds must be transported immediately.
