Thanksgiving Farm Vineyards & Winery is a family-owned and operated business dedicated to grape growing and winemaking. Established in 1998, we cultivate 13 acres of Bordeaux red varietiesMerlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdoton rolling hills historically used for tobacco farming. Our commitment to sustainable practices has earned commendations from the USDA and Maryland Department of Agriculture. We received our commercial winery license in 2006, becoming the first commercial winery in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. All Thanksgiving Farm brand wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes, while our Towhee brand incorporates juice from other regions.Our facility includes a wine processing area, barrel aging room, and sales room, with a focus on small-batch production using French oak barrels. We prioritize quality through hand-picked grapes and meticulous fermentation processes. Our wines have earned gold and silver medals at the International Eastern Wine Competition. The historic farmhouse, built in 1893 and restored in 2004, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We maintain a conservation easement to preserve the farms rural character for future generations.

Our self-guided Wine Tasting 6-Pack includes six distinct wines in 5 oz bottles, featuring estate-grown Franc Blanc, Meritage blends, and fortified dessert wines. Color-coded bottles match detailed tasting notes. Each 6-pack serves up to four guests and includes a curated tasting carrier for $50.00, available April-November during sales hours.
Vineyard Tours
Explore our 13-acre vineyards planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Learn about sustainable practices that earned USDA commendations, including contour-following trellises that minimize erosion. Tours highlight our hand-picking process and historic transition from tobacco farming to viticulture since 1998.

What are your wine tasting hours?
Our sales room is open Saturdays and Sundays 12-5 PM April-November. December-March, we're open the second Saturday of each month 2-4 PM for bottle sales only.
Do you offer vineyard tours?
Yes, self-guided vineyard tours are available during operating hours. Our staff can provide printed materials explaining our sustainable farming practices and grape varieties.
What wine varieties do you produce?
We specialize in Bordeaux reds: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Our portfolio includes dry red Meritage blends, a dry white Franc Blanc, rosé, and a fortified dessert wine.
Can I bring food to the winery?
Yes, guests may bring picnic food to enjoy with our wines. Food heating devices like grills are not permitted in our outdoor seating areas.

An excellent local vineyard from a couple whose hobby took off. Thanksgiving Farm winery is the oldest vineyard in Anne Arundel County. I found their wines to be enjoyable and smooth. Wine is definitely an individual taste, and this wine is to my taste. The area was a beautiful spot just off the main road. The owner clearly enjoys the business as she walked us over to a table and spent time chatting with us. All of the staff is friendly and attentive. Had we not been traveling by motorcycle we'd have bought more wine! Definitely plan to come back and bring some friends to try it out.

A great experience! Service was outstanding and the atmosphere was perfect. All of the wines exceed expectations. Cant wait to come back and bring friends. Maureen greeted us when we arrived and set the bar for the next level service. What a hidden gem. Please go. Just go try it.
