Please let your artist know about any previous medical conditions or prescriptions you have been taking - particularly blood thinners or accutane - prior to your appointment.

Tegaderm holds in the body's natural moisture and healing enzymes, allowing the body to heal itself in the most efficient manner possible. After skin has been injured, healing elements are produced to help break down dead tissue and rebuild new tissue. Under normal circumstances, these healing elements dry up and evaporate which reduces their effectiveness.

When deciding to get a tattoo while on vacation, be sure to plan your tattoo session so that it doesn't interfere with your vacation activities. Activities such as going to the beach, swimming, and tanning in the two weeks following a tattoo session will affect the healing process.
We recommend clients schedule their appointments a day or two before the end of their vacation to avoid plan interruptions, as well as to allow the fresh tattoo to start the healing process before traveling again.Inform your artist if you are flying and if possible, bandage the tattoo with Tegaderm while traveling to lower risk of infection.

There are several health conditions to notify your artist about that can interfere with your ability to get a tattoo. Anything from medications and allergies, to illness and communicable diseases. Allergies such as red dye 40, latex, green soap, or anything else that could pertain to tattoo procedure.

If you still love your old tattoo and don't want to cover it up, reworking it can be a great option. Artists will typically have different styles or ideas and this can result in tattoos looking different after being reworked. Reworking a tattoo is similar to doing a cover up in many ways; a lot of the design elements and techniques used will be very particular to the individual tattoo.
