Dexter Music founders Paul and Kim Dexter are 30-year music industry veterans with more than 25 years teaching experience. As touring recording artists in the nineties, the Dexters learned the performance techniques, industry ins-and-outs, and artistic commercial balance that only a professional musician fully comprehends.

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about our in-home music lesson program in Orange County and Long Beach, California. If you really want to buy drums because you know you or your child really wants to play them, that is great. However, we think it is a good idea to start drum lessons with just a practice pad and sticks.
Band Rehearsals

Nothing beats the excitement and teamwork that comes from playing in a band with a group of your friends. If your little musician(s) already have their band established with their friends, that's great. If not, we can help put them together with other Dexter Music musician's that live near you. We will match up your young band with one of our multi-instrumental instructors who can work with the group for an hour every week.
Music Production

Nothing beats the feeling of creating music from a seed to a final master recording. We will take you through all aspects of the music production process: From initial drum beats that you build on (or recording your drums) to overdubbing all other instruments and vocals. Then editing the elements, adding effects, and creating your final mixes.
