Founded in 1981 and 100% supported by donations and volunteers, our mission has always been to give injured wildlife a second chance in the state of New Mexico. To rehabilitate and release to the wild, injured or orphaned animals rescued by members of the public. To educate New Mexicans about the importance of habitat preservation and conservation for our native wildlife.

Report
Since 1981 Wildlife Rescue of New Mexico has taken care of thousands of injured, orphaned or sick animals. We are an all-volunteer organization and we rely on volunteers to do the work of taking care of these animals. Most volunteers work directly with the animals, while others provide assistance with many other essential tasks.
Events & Education
Report
The focus of our education program is to give students or individuals an appreciation for wildlife and an awareness of the hazards that all wildlife face due to factors such as habitat loss, pollution, cat predation, and man made obstacles. Education in the classroom is important.
Many children today know very little about the wild animals that live in their area and are unaware of the tremendous impact we all have on the prospects for their continued survival. One of the unique aspects of our education program is that we will tailor a program to your school or group's needs.
