Prospective parents of preschool-Grade 11 students are invited to discover Waynflete firsthand. Visit classes while they're in session, meet the teachers, and hear about our approach to education from Head of School Geoff Wagg. Our student/teacher ratio is among the smallest in the region.

History

Waynflete School was founded in 1897 by Agnes Lowell and Caroline Crisfield, who came to Portland from the Ogontz School in Philadelphia. During a trip to England, the founders became interested in 15th-century statesman and educator William Waynflete. Bishop of Winchester and Lord Chancellor of England, he founded Magdalen College at Oxford as well as an elementary school at his nameplace, "Wainfleet."
