America's Best Apparel has been locally owned & operated since 1986 here in West Des Moines, Iowa. We started as Champ's Choice in Valley West Mall when it was literally in the midst of cornfields. Champ's Choice was a retail store where we screenprinted select designs as the customer waited.
As Champ's continued to grow, we had an opportunity to sell our designs which ultimately launched our wholesale business, which at it's inception was named Heartland Printed Apparel.Over the next few years, we moved away from retail & concentrated our efforts on the preprint line, gaining attention across the nation in a variety of different markets.

Screenprinting

Screenprinting, sometimes called silk screenprinting, uses a custom prepared stencil. The part of the design that is to be printed transferred to a screen that is made up of silk, nylon or a stainless-steel mesh. This process is similar to developing a picture. Once the screen has been "burned" with the design it allows ink to pass through the area specific to the design, but not through the other part of the stencil.

Embroidery is affordable, and a great way to show off your corporate logo or design with style. All logos are given to our in-house embroidery professionals to decide on which stitch pattern to use for each section of your custom designed logo.

Traditional garment screen printing has come a long way to lower its environmental impact, but direct to garment printing is much better at it. Through the entire process of art to completed print, it uses up to five less chemicals than traditional screen printing and much less water. Durability of the print is excellent, plus we are able to decorate most shirt material in great detail.
