Handcrafted Cookies & Custom Cakes Since 1930
Dewey's Bakery has been crafting high-quality baked goods since 1930, rooted in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our legacy began with thin, crisp Moravian Cookies inspired by 18th-century European traditions, evolving over decades to include beloved flavors like Meyer Lemon and Triple Ginger. Through wartime challenges, natural disasters, and industry changes, weve maintained a commitment to quality, community, and innovation. Our expansion to a commercial bakery in 2010 and nationwide grocery distribution in 2018 reflects our dedication to sharing sweetness beyond local borders. With over 90 years of baking heritage, we combine time-tested techniques with modern creativity to serve generations of cookie enthusiasts. Our fundraising programs have returned $4 million to North Carolina communities, reinforcing our mission to make every day sweeter for everyone. From handcrafted cookies to holiday traditions, we prioritize excellence in every batch we produce.

Oh man, super disappointed in the quality of the cupcakes. The cakes were hard and dry. The icing was too thick. I feel like this cupcakes were made days ago. Not fresh at all, not even close. We took one bite and threw them out! :(

Customer service at this place is nonexistent. The employee clearly did not want to be there and had a nasty attitude. Every time I selected a item she would say Anything else, anything else, anything else and she walked away before twice before I was finished ordering.
Im giving it two stars because Im huge on customer service

I bought the cake roll yesterday for a birthday gift. The icing was so thick you could not even find the cake. Why mess with recipes? Why change what was working? Ive bought this cake for years now I will not. If I wanted a just icing cake I would have bought a container of icing. Also, what happened to the traditional birthday cakes you used to carry? With beautiful red flowers with green leaves? Now, you walk in and you feel like youve walked into the set of a baking competition show - so much glitz and glamour sometimes you want simple.. I guess simple and traditions are gone from Deweys

All though their cakes are delicious it difficult to go inside the store because some of their employees are so rude. I went to order a cake and the employees seemed upset that they had to deal with me. Maybe it was a busy time and they were stressed but I would treat a customer with respect and kindness.

NEVER ORDER ONLINE FROM DEWEYS BAKERY! I made a $68 mail order to be sent to a Massachusetts address. I live in Winston Salem, NC. The order was sent to ME in North Carolina!! I called them and a recording said that they could get back yo me in possibly three days! These were perishable baked goods. I also filled out an online form to them explaining their mix up. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM!! A $68 dollar gift wasted, because I can not eat it, due to health concerns. I called another company to send fruit. What a bunch of DUMMIES!
