At Axis, we strive to provide the highest quality training and environment for the practice of Classical Pilates and the Gyrotonic method. Classical Pilates and Gyrotonic are lifelong practices that greatly enhance a person's quality of life.
Services
Report
A private session is a 50-55 minute, one on one training session with an instructor. In a Pilates session, you will utilize apparatus (reformer, cadillac, chairs, barrels, etc.) and incorporate mathwork into each session. In a Gyrotonic session, you will incorporate Gyrokinesis (stool and floor work) as well as apparatus work (handle unit, pulley tower, specialized equipment).

It takes some time to learn the basics of these initially complex yet rewarding methods of exercise. Five private sessions will give you a great foundation of movement knowledge and allow you to familiarize yourself with the apparatus: the springs and straps on the Pilates apparatus, or the handle unit and pulley tower for Gyrotonic.

The Gyrotonic Expansion System was created by Juliu Horvath, a ballet dancer and swimmer who also studied Kundalini Yoga and Tai Chi.
