Cabin Rentals
Our 31 uniquely decorated cabins sleep 2-10 guests with modern amenities including full kitchens, bedding, and private bathrooms. Select units feature granite countertops, washer/dryer, and mountain views while maintaining rustic charm. All cabins include access to shared charcoal grills and recreational areas.
RV Site Rentals
25 premium RV sites with full hookups (water, electricity, sewer) and upgraded Wi-Fi. Most are pull-through sites with scenic views of cliffs and wildlife. Back-in sites available for smaller RVs under 25 feet with similar amenities and natural surroundings.
Horseback Riding
Daily guided horseback rides at 10am and 1pm using our 10 well-maintained horses. Tours explore scenic trails through cottonwood groves and along the Rio Grande River, suitable for all experience levels with expert guides ensuring safety and enjoyment.
Jeep Rentals
Four modern four-door Jeeps available for rent to explore Colorado's backcountry. Vehicles come equipped for rugged terrain with expert guidance on local trails and scenic routes through Rio Grande National Forest and surrounding wilderness areas.
Fishing
Over 1/4 mile of private Rio Grande River access for fly fishing and spin casting. Abundant trout species including rainbow, brook, brown, and native Rio Grande cutthroat. Guests receive local fishing tips and nearby access to Wheeler Geologic Area's unique rock formations.

We offer 31 unique cabins sleeping 2-10 guests and 25 RV sites with full hookups, including premium pull-through options with scenic views.
Are pets allowed at the guest ranch?
Pets are permitted in most cabins, but 6 units (Cabin #10, #11, #13, #18, #25, #26) and some RV sites have strict no-pet policies.
What outdoor activities are available nearby?
We offer horseback riding, jeep rentals, and river fishing. Nearby attractions include Rio Grande National Forest with hiking, skiing, and wildlife viewing.
What is your cancellation policy?
50% deposit is non-refundable after May 1st. Reservations can be moved to alternate dates within the same season before this cutoff.
Is there dining available on-site?
Our 149 Eatery restaurant serves meals seasonally (May-September) and offers catering services for special events at the ranch.

I personally love the Cove! As I have a history with this beautiful place that goes back some 14 years ago.. Great owners and staff both friendly and helpful. Clean, stocked cabins with gorgeous views of the steep mountains and cliffs all around. Wonderful trout fishing on site! Dog friendly as well! Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to the lack of staff. (Not just there. Every restaurant I know including where I work in WI is having this issue.) I have no doubts that working for the Cottonwood Cove would be a great experience. As it was 14 yrs ago. So, if you're a local don't hesitate

Stayed in cabin 2 twice now this past year. Loved it both times! The person who complained earlier must be too used to their amenities. Its advertised as a rustic cabin, youre not going to have everything you have at home obviously. Accordion style doors have now been installed on the bedrooms, very nice. There is no need for heat or ac in the summertime (another complaint from the same reviewer earlier), high 70s during the day and low 50s at night. If it gets warm, just open a few windows and use the fans provided, not that hard. If you absolutely need heat, its VERY easy to light the

Cute little cabins with everything you need, pots and pans in a kitchen. TV with cable. Wifi. There was a gift shop with ice cream, Amish hand pies and basic food like pizza, hot dogs etc. Only complaint was the bed was hard, there was some road noise and headlights coming through the windows and the bathroom was comically small. The shower head was at my husband's chest level and he's well under 6 feet tall

Fell in love with this place and the staff. Everyone couldnt have been nicer. Our kids loved the playground, gift shop and ice cream there. The owner even let them feed the horses with her at night. We will return.
