The Hillwood Soccer Club (HSC) is a non-profit, volunteer-run club which organizes soccer practices and games for children aged 5 through 18. It is one of 13 clubs affiliated with Seattle Youth Soccer Association. SYSA is affiliated with Washington State Youth Soccer Association. Our club boundaries are the western half of the city of Shoreline, WA and we do allow players from the greater area of Shoreline, north Seattle, & Edmonds to play.
Hillwood Soccer Club is dedicated to providing a safe and positive experience where children can learn the game of soccer, sportsmanship, and teamwork. A child's self-esteem, enjoyment, and knowledge of the game is more important than winning at the recreational level. Teams are usually formed on a neighborhood basis: with children who attend the same school or live in the same neighborhood.

Team Formation
Report
A head coach and one assistant may choose to coach together and can have their child play for their team if cleared through the registrar. Coaches may not invite a player even to practice with a team until the child has officially registered. A player is not considered a team member until the registrar has received registration, fee and proof of age.
Select Soccer
Report
This is usually through a tryout, but can also be by recruiting or by invitations. The key difference between "rec" and "select" soccer is in how individual players are grouped into teams. In recreational soccer here in Hillwood, as well as the other recreational clubs in Seattle Youth Soccer Association, the club registrar places the players on the teams.
Volunteers
Report
The Hillwood Soccer Club is a volunteer run organization and welcomes your interest. Knowledge of soccer is not a requirement for volunteering. Many important volunteers share their organizational skills, with little knowledge of the game to help the club and its teams. It is the work of volunteers that makes soccer available to our children.
Board Members
Report
Board of Directors Elections As part of securing IRS status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we revamped our by-laws four years ago and changed the process by which we elect new members to the Board of Directors. At this time, we are soliciting candidates to serve on the Board. Hillwood Soccer Club has received 501(c)(3) status from the IRS and as part of the application process, we have changed our board structure.
Managers
Report
The job you do for Hillwood Soccer Club is very important. Thank you for taking the time to complete what is necessary and returning it to Hillwood. The information the club receives from each team helps registrars efficiantly place players on teams. The Team Manager plays a critically important role as the organizer and central contact for each Hillwood team.
