Located in the heart of Chicago's northland, Northside Music Academy first opened its doors in 2017 with a commitment to inspire our community through the highest quality of music education.
We are a musician owned music school and our programs include private instruction in piano, guitar, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, singing, percussion, saxophone, clarinet and flute, music theory and musicianship courses, and early childhood music education classes.

Ever since opening our doors in 2017, Northside Music has grown into a cultural hub in Edgebrook and the surrounding northland communities, realizing a long-anticipated dream of professional musicians Alin and Natalia Cernaianu.
Together this dynamic husband-and-wife team have brought together an experienced faculty of highly-trained professional musician-educators and have developed a comprehensive music program that includes private instrumental instruction for most instruments and voice, music theory instruction, and an energetic early-childhood "Hopping Hippos" music-and-movement class.

The carefully chosen faculty at Northside Music Academy is university-trained, dedicated, and experienced, with a proven track record of successful teaching. In addition they perform professionally throughout the Chicago area and some even internationally on the instruments they teach. All performers are members of our faculty.

It is never too early to begin fostering a love of music in a child! Parents of young children should consider our Early Childhood Music Classes, while parents of children approximately 5 years and older may want to consider enrolling in private instrument instruction. For children younger than 7 years, parents are encouraged to attend the weekly private instrument lesson and facilitate home practice.

Robert Palos is a Chicago-based guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and composer with a style rooted in the jazz tradition but flavored with other contemporary styles of music. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in instrumental performance from Columbia College in Chicago where he studied jazz guitar and theory with Frank Dawson.
