I moved to San Diego in October and was recommended Art of Skin by a friend and now I regularly see April the PA for Dr. Melanie Palm for both cosmetic and dermatology needs. I struggle with adult acne, melasma and hyperpigmentation and April has been a gem in helping my skin transformation. She is always makes me feel comfortable and she takes the time to explain my skin care plan. I now have a full skin care regiment that works for me and has produced results. Dr. Palm was able to considerably reduce my melasma. I am African American and I was concerned about scarring. She took a conservative approach and said that she realizes that my skin and Caucasian skin cannot always receive the same treatments. My skin has improved near 100%. There is no cure for melasma but it can be managed. She does not make unrealistic promises. Visit her for any dermatological problemsyou will not regret it.

Posting my yelp review here on google because this place should not be operating with heartless employees. My experience here is unacceptable at all costs and should not be ignored if you are reading unless you enjoy being HARASSED, held in volition, and want to walk out with an anxiety attack, be my guest. Since I can't give 0 stars, 1 will work since the doctor herself was fine, no issues there. However the comments about how terrible their service is beyond accurate. As a fellow dermatologist, its hard to impress me. But Dr Melanie Palm is top notch! Her esthetic and injection techniques are nationally recognized. She is so skilled, so lovely, and absolutely the best cosmetic dermatologist. Grateful to call her my colleague and friend. It takes a lot to wake me up at 5:45am on vacation, but I did, to sneak in a before clinic hours appointment. With busy motherhood and being a practice owner myself, its a real treat to carve out time for my own filler treatment. Despite many injections, I had no bruising and it was pain free. The best dermatologist I've been to! She is very knowledgeable and a kind caring person, not just a doctor that wants you in and out. I am from Pittsburgh, PA and come out to San Diego to see her. I've looked everywhere for a great dermatologist and luckily I found her.
