Services
Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery
This procedure addresses shoulder injuries using small incisions and specialized tools to diagnose and treat conditions like rotator cuff tears. Athletes benefit from faster recovery times and reduced scarring compared to traditional methods. Our surgeon's expertise with professional sports teams ensures tailored rehabilitation plans for optimal outcomes.
Shockwave Therapy
Employing high-energy sound waves, this treatment stimulates healing for chronic tendon conditions like tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis. Backed by clinical studies, it offers surgery alternatives with proven success rates. Patients typically experience reduced pain within 12 weeks of treatment sessions.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections
Using concentrated platelets from a patient's own blood, PRP injections accelerate healing for ligament and tendon injuries. Research supports its effectiveness for chronic lateral epicondylitis and other musculoskeletal conditions. Treatment protocols follow evidence-based guidelines for optimal growth factor delivery.
Sports Physicals
Comprehensive evaluations ensure athletes meet participation requirements through musculoskeletal assessments and injury risk analysis. Our exams meet high school and collegiate athletic association standards, with same-day certification provided for student athletes.
ACL Reconstruction
Using advanced arthroscopic techniques, we replace damaged anterior cruciate ligaments with graft tissue to restore knee stability. Post-operative protocols combine physical therapy with progressive strength training, enabling patients to return to sports within 6-12 months on average.

I had surgery on both of my ankles back in 2013 (8 years ago). He did such a great job getting me back on my feet that I was able to complete 7 half-marathons afterward. To this day I am a regular CrossFitter and am able to do everything pain-free. Dr. Murphy and his staff are top-notch, very knowledgeable, spent time to explain things to me in an appropriate level of detail, and very friendly.

Being in the San Diego health care field for the past 35 years, a select few names are most often mentioned when I talk to patients and other practitioners regarding "who is the best surgeon" for this or that anatomical pain/dysfunction/tear/break, etc. For people in the know, Dr. Paul Murphy is frequently mentioned as "the best," always mentioned as "one of the best."
It's certainly a high testament to be a surgeon (as "Murph" is) that top professional athletes go to when their bodies need repair...but it is a higher validation to be the doc that other docs consult when they need help. Dr. Murphy

Dr Murphy, his staff, and the surgical center are all amazing professionals! I had a partial meniscus removal - all went as planned. Dr Murphys bedside manner is amazing, and its clear that hes doing this because its his passion and he cares. I would let him operate on me again anytime. -Cam

After going to Dr. Murphy's office for almost a year it's time to make a change. While I don't have an issue with Dr. Murphy himself or a few of the PA's, other members of his staff are terrible. From my initial phone call to setup an appointment with the scheduler/Medical asst, I should have realized that maybe I should go elsewhere. Some of his staff members that Ive dealt with have been either rude and/or cold and make you feel like you are a burden to them being a patient. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt on more than one occasion but enough is enough. This office only thinks

I saw Dr. Paul Murphy today for an evaluation for my workers comp. claim and he was wonderful. I knew I was in great hands. He did a very through evaluation, did not rush through it and treated me with care. Thank you Dr. Murphy for caring!

I have been a patient here for years and I wouldnt trust my care to anyone else. Dr. Murphy is honest and sensitive with his patients. He is not a surgery happy surgeon and will do anything to avoid surgery, he does this because he cares not because he wants to perform surgeries. His prices are reasonable too.
