Algebra Geometry & Basic Math Tutoring

When I was in 7th grade, I had a teacher who taught only to the top of the class. I had so many questions, but they were never answered to my satisfaction. I fell behind and became overwhelmed. My self-confidence began to slip away, and as the year went on I lost the motivation to try. I remember the crushing sense of failure and the shame that I experienced in feeling that I was not good enough.

We enlisted the help of Daryl to tutor her through the course. Best decision we could have made. I have experience over the past 17 years working with a wide variety of students, teachers, textbooks, and curricula in school systems throughout the North County region of San Diego. I tutor students who need help mastering the Common Core math curriculum. I currently provide Common Core math tutoring, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra 2, Integrated Math 1 & 2, and Geometry.

Unlike in your child's earlier math classes, Geometry students are required to do independent work in addition to and beyond what the teacher puts on the board, gives as notes, or discusses in class. Dozens and dozens of theorems and postulates are introduced.

These are like the building blocks of grammar we use when learning a language: If students don't memorize them as they are introduced, clearly grasp their meaning, and understand how they're used, they can quickly become lost.Organizational skills and step-wise problem-solving techniques are of great importance in Geometry, and must be practiced and refined.
