At Suzuki Music Columbus, we offer joy-filled and inspiring music lessons with highly qualified Suzuki Method teachers who know how to help your child reach their highest potential. Although the program is open to students of all ages, we accept children as young as 3 years old to take violin, viola, or cello lessons.

We welcome new beginners and transfer students all year round. Following Shinichi Suzuki's philosophy of Talent Education, we believe every child can learn and talent can be developed in every child when one creates the right environment. FAQ about SMC
Report
We are teaching music in the way that children learn language, so an early start is important. Typically a new beginner is aged 3 - 10, although older beginners have had success, as well as adult students. If your child has studied using the Suzuki method it will be easy to assimilate them into the program.
Student Programs
Report
Our Summer Institute offers three packages for Suzuki students of all ages and advanced students of all backgrounds. Classes will be scheduled between 8:30-11:45am EST Monday-Friday. Each day, your child will have three morning classes, an off-screen lunch hour followed by the afternoon 1:00 Play-Along, and a 2:00 recital experience to attend as a performer or audience member.
Class Descriptions
Report
Students will work individually with the teacher in a class setting with several other students of a similar age and/or level. Each child will be given individual attention during the class. This provides a wonderful opportunity for the students to watch each other and learn from one another. Please bring a "polished" piece for the teacher on the first day.
Teacher Training
Report
Suzuki Teacher Training Courses run concurrently with the Summer Institute, providing teachers an immersion experience in the Suzuki Method. Teachers have the opportunity to work closely with trainers and observe Suzuki lessons, group classes, and performances. All class times are listed in Eastern Standard Time (EST).
