About
Report
When voice teacher Sharon Szymanski began teaching private lessons at home in 2000, she quickly realized that the demand for quality music instruction in Chapel Hill was very high and immediately hired additional teachers to meet it. Within a few years, she added professional instruction in piano and guitar and moved operations into a commercial space where Chapel Hill School of Musical Arts was born.

Brass
Report
Many students have dreams of becoming part of a musical ensemble, whether through school or another group. A great way to increase their chances of making the cut is to have them take brass instrument lessons.

Chapel Hill and surrounding areas have wonderful band programs in their public schools and brass instruments are an important component to any band, so choosing a brass instrument and learning to play it is a great way to participate in middle and high school music.Being in your school band is great, but how do you get ready for it or improve your musical abilities once you are in?
Guitar
Report
Learning to play the guitar is wonderful but it helps if you can be patient. It takes some time to get used to managing doing both the chords with one hand and strumming with the other and new players need to let their fingertips toughen up and get used to pressing down on the strings. But once that learning period is over, the sky is the limit!
Percussion
Report
Many people view drums as a "fun" instrument that anyone can play. Playing the drums can be fun, but learning how definitely benefits from quality instruction. Here at Chapel Hill School of Musical Arts, we pride ourselves on offering drum kit and percussion lessons from skilled and knowledgeable instructors.
