Evergreen Music School

Dave has a BA in Music Education from Eastern Washington University (where he studied trombone with Rich Obregon) and a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology. He continues to teach low brass but since graduating from Eastern in 1990, he began studying the guitar more seriously.

Studying with world class teachers, Milo Peterson, Chuck Israel's, and Jamie Findlay, he then began noticing the connections between all stringed, fretted instruments and currently performs and teaches guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, and voice.Dave teaches guitar lessons in Bellingham, WA and online.

Kay Hageman brings to EMS over 30 years of K-12 public school music teaching experience in addition to private piano and voice instruction. Trained in piano and vocal music, Kay enjoys working with students of all ages, helping to develop their skills and passion for music. Kay began studying piano at a young age and by age 14 was accompanying vocal ensembles and soloists.

Evergreen Music School wants every child to have the opportunity to have music lessons in Bellingham, Mount Vernon, or Anacortes. That is why we offer music lessons for kids through the Evergreen Music School Scholarship Program. This Scholarship provides students who could not otherwise afford music lessons the opportunity to study at the Evergreen Music School.
