Achilles Tendinitis/Tears and or Ruptures

The forces that occur during running and jumping can be up to 10 times your body weight, these forces are increased with not only the activities we do but how our foot and ankle is able to adapt to the forces. These extreme forces can cause a partial tear or a complete rupture of the tendon, in chronic conditions a tendinitis of the Achilles can occur.
Arthritis

Arthritis comes in many forms, osteoarthritis is the most common form which is characterized by the breakdown or loss of cartilage within the joints of the body. For example, hallux rigidus which is a common arthritic condition seen in the big toe joint of the foot. Osteoarthritis can be caused by excessive wear and tear of the joint which may be caused by; age, repetitive micro-trauma, or abrupt traumatic injury to the joint.

Diabetic Foot Care

Foot complications secondary to diabetes are the most common cause of atraumatic lower extremity amputations and also the leading cause of diabetic hospitalized in the United States. The major cause of this is due to loss of sensation to the feet or neuropathy. The loss of feeling to the feet can result in minor sores or cuts being unnoticed leading to complicated infections which can require aggressive medical and surgical interventions.
Fractures of the Foot and Ankle

Fractures of the foot and/or ankle come in many forms and are all treated specifically depending on the type of fracture and it's location. Fractures can be a result of a traumatic injury resulting in symptoms which present very quickly with pain, swelling, redness and bruising. On the other hand, they can occur gradually due to stress and or overuse injury, resulting in a more gradual onset of symptoms.
