The Utility District Credit Union (UDCU) was founded in 1935 by a group of EBMUD employees with the goal of providing employees of EBMUD and their family members a place to save their money and provide low cost financial products. UDCU has come a long way during the ensuing decades, but our basic philosophy remains unchanged. We are a cooperative union of people with a common bond and a common goal: to provide the best financial services possible for our members.

Your Visa Check Card allows you 24-hour access to your checking account at any location Visa is accepted, or at any ATM or Point of Sale (POS) location displaying the STAR, PLUS or EXPLORE logo.

UDCU checking accounts enable you to write checks without incurring a service charge. Dividends are computed daily and posted monthly. You can set up Automatic Clearing House (ACH) or any other electronic debit/credit such as payroll deductions and automatic deductions on your share draft account free of charge.

UDCU offers a variety of low-cost, flexible programs designed to help our members consolidate debt, finance a new or used vehicle. Our signature unsecured loan is available in amounts up to $5,000.

Q: Who administers the credit union? A: UDCU operations are overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors who are elected annually by the members. The board establishes policies and operating guidelines, and provides guidance and direction to the credit union staff. Day-to-day operation to the credit union is conducted by the credit union manager.
