Helms Driving School

We have been teaching adults and teenagers to drive safely since 1995 throughout the Charlotte area. At Helms Driving School, our number-one objective is to ensure that our students develop and maintain safe practices on the road as well as learn the art of defensive driving.

The professional and licensed instructors at our facility feel that it is their obligation to provide a level of service that is in accordance to safety rules and regulations as provided by the NC DMV.Here at Helms Driving School, we know that there is no substitute for classroom instruction with a knowledgeable instructor and real, behind-the-wheel training can only be achieved by actually getting behind the wheel.

Do you have nervous teenagers? We have the patience to teach them to drive. Are you having difficulties mastering parallel parking? We have the experience to show you how. Don't own a car but still want to learn to drive? We'll pick you up and drop you off. At Helms Driving School, we make every effort to make your experience as safe and comfortable as possible.

The pennant-shaped yellow warning sign emphasizes, rather than replaces, the rectangular regulatory "DO NOT PASS" sign. The pennant is located on the left side of the road and points to the beginning of the no-passing zone (solid yellow line in your lane). Diamond-shaped signs are also caution or warning signs.

I took a 6 hour driving class and it was absolute pleasure to learn with Margaret. She is a great mentor and learning is so much fun with her. I not only cleared my driving test in one go but now I drive my own car confidently on US roads.
