He completed his internship and residency in Surgery in 1985-1986 at SUNY Downstate including chief resident 1985-1988. After a short stint as Attending Surgeon at Long Island College Hospital, he was recruited to Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan where he served as Assistant Director of Surgery.
