Maverick Charters is a family owned and operated charter fishing company established in 2015 that started with a single boat, the Julia Lynn, and has grown into a four boat operation and one of the highest rated fishing charter operations in Homer, AK.
Established in 2015 Capt Eric started Maverick Charters and in 2020 joined forces with Capt Billy and then merged with Silverfox Charters, (the longest running charter company in Homer!) to form Maverick Charters as it is today.Capt Billy and Capt Eric have been working in the charter industry in Homer for more than a decade each and are excited to be working together to build a premier charter fishing operation.

Halibut

We have several options when it comes to fishing for halibut including and full day options, as well as fishing on our big, stable 56' Ultimate or on one of our 6-passenger boats. A full day, straight halibut trip gives you the most time to target larger fish. The day halibut trips are a great way to spend a fun day on the water and catch fish, it is not necessarily a big fish chasing trip, though big fish can certainly come up.
Salmon

We offer full day salmon fishing trips on our 6-passenger boats, the Julia Lynn, Pacific Sun and the Outrageous. Please plan on a full day on the water, approximately 8 hours. Travel to the fishing grounds varies anywhere from 1-3 hours, this all depends on weather, tide and where the fish have been biting.
Combo

Combo trips are a great way to experience the variety of what Alaska has to offer. We offer several different trip options, such as Halibut & Salmon, Halibut & Rockfish, Salmon & Rockfish, and Multi Species Trips. This trip is typically split in half, targeting halibut for half the day and salmon for the other half.
King Fishing & Crab
Report
King salmon are plentiful year round in Kachemak Bay. This is a great way to enjoy the waters in the off season and see the winterscapes of the Bay. Winter trolling is an experience not to be missed and not to worry all our boats have heated cabins! Interested in fresh Alaskan crab? We also offer crabbing on our winter king trips.
