Founded in 1976 by former Detroit City Ballet dancer Judy Shamanski-Menna, Trenton School of Dance has been a cornerstone of dance education in the Downriver community for nearly five decades. Under three generations of leadershipincluding Judys niece Meredith Shamanski and current owner Sarah Renkowe have cultivated a legacy of excellence in dance instruction. Competition Team

K-Pop Dance Camp
This high-energy camp introduces dancers aged 5-11 to K-Pop choreography. Activities include dance routines, crafts, and performance preparation. The $35 program runs in afternoon sessions, fostering creativity and confidence through contemporary music and movement in a fun, social setting.
Nutcracker Program
Our annual Nutcracker production provides performance experience for students of all levels. Participants learn classical ballet repertoire while contributing to a cherished community tradition. The program includes rehearsals, costume fittings, and a showcase at Trenton High School auditorium.
Summer Registration

Sarah Renko
Owner
Sarah Renko trained at Trenton School of Dance before earning a BS in Dance from Wayne State University. Certified by Dance Masters of America, she teaches ballet, tap, and contemporary while leading the studio since 2021.
Lisa Walker
Instructor
Lisa Walker brings 25+ years of experience, including Broadway Dance Center training and competitive choreography awards. She teaches jazz, tap, and hip hop while working full-time at Ford Motor Company as a Facility Engineer.
Christa Callahan
Instructor
Christa Callahan trained at Trenton School of Dance for 20 years, specializing in Cecchetti ballet. With competitive dance experience and theater performance background, she now teaches various styles while working at her local library.
Mackenzie Toth
Competition Director
Mackenzie Toth, a TSD alumna, directs the Mini and Petite Competition teams. Currently pursuing a dance degree at Eastern Michigan University, she teaches ballet, tap, and contemporary while mentoring young competitors.
Stephanie Plansker
Instructor
Stephanie Plansker holds a BA in English and Dance from the University of North Texas. As a Cecchetti Council of America member, she teaches ballet and modern while serving on national dance education committees.

My granddaughters found real talent under the direction and supervision of Trenton School of Dance. I certainly would recommend their staff of teachers teaching good techniques.

My daughter has done 2 dance camps now and loved both of them! The teachers are all very patient and taught them so much in the short time! Can’t wait to dance more in the fall!

My daughter Rachel loves the My Little Pony dance camp she is in right now. Meredith the instructor is amazing and really keeps the kids focused while having fun! Great place to learn dance and very welcoming when you walk in the door.

My daughter had her first dance class and absolutely loved it. The teachers are wonderful and we will keep her going in this program after her introductory class is over! :)
