Years ago I thought the answer was all about calories in/calories out, and I used to spend an incredible amount of time focusing on what and how much I "should" eat. I would try to limit my portions, only eat "healthy foods, " and exercise daily.
Of course these tactics would work for a while, but sure enough, after a few weeks or months of strict diet and exercise, I would grow tired of restricting myself and I would over-indulge on a "forbidden food" or fall off my exercise routine.Every time this happened I would feel like a failure! I would blame myself for a lack of willpower and vow to eventually get back on track.
