Rough House Charters Captain is Andy Platko, son of Captain John. Andy has been fishing ever since he could walk and it has turned into a life long passion. He has been Captain John's first mate since day one and now he has put his knowledge towards being the Captain of Rough House Charters, Lake Erie fishing charters.

Lake Erie is known as the "Walleye Capital of the World." Walleye are the most popular Lake Erie fish species to fish for. The average size of a Lake Erie walleye caught in PA is between 4-6 lbs, but we often catch walleye over 8 lbs. Walleye is often considered one of the best tasting of any freshwater fish.

Take I-79 north to Erie and remain on I-79 until it becomes the Bayfront Highway. Continue on the Bayfront Highway and you will pass several marinas on your left. At the intersection of State Street and the Bayfront Highway, Hamot Hospital will be located on your right.
At this light, make a left onto State Street and proceed north (towards the bay) about 100 yards and make a right onto East Front St. Go about 200 yards and make a left into the gravel parking area (just before the huge smokestack and the Maritime Museum).Park in the NW corner of the lot by the boat dock.
