Founded in 2006, The Dance School is a community-funded 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the art of dance. Our mission is to ensure accessibility to dance education for all, regardless of financial circumstances, through scholarships covering 50-100% of tuition. We provide a safe, positive environment where students of all ages and abilities can explore creativity, individuality, and self-expression. Our instructors are highly trained professionals with background checks, and our facilities feature sprung floors for safety. We offer performance opportunities, private lessons, and community events while maintaining strict cleaning protocols.The school operates in the historic 2821 Rockefeller Ave building, continuing the legacy of Betty Spooner and Mike Jordan. We just finished our first year there, and we love it. Our daughter has been obsessed with learning ballet since she was 3, so at 5 we finally enrolled her in a "real" school instead of a short programs at the Y etc. She was able to perform in the Nutcracker, and the year end show, and is hooked. We have been very happy with the level of teaching here, and will be returning!

Been going here for 10 years. The instructors and staff are wonderful and I'm so happy to call them family. I have learned to love all forms of art and dance while here while building life long bonds and setting goals for my future. Would love to see many more join this big family we have.

We have had fantastic experiences at The Dance School. The variety of dance offered and level of instruction is exceptional. It is a place for the child that is just exploring and likes to dance to the child that can't get enough of dance. Heidi, the Director provides a warm welcoming atmosphere. So thankful to have The Dance School part of our community.
