
George T. Baker Aviation Technical College is located at 3275 N.W. 42 Avenue, adjacent to the Miami International Airport. The school is a public, tax-supported institution authorized by the Florida Department of Education and operated by the Miami-Dade County Public School System.
It is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and the National Center for Aircraft Technician Training (NCATT) and is certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration under Part 147 of the Federal Aviation Regulations.Baker Aviation is currently preparing approximately 1,000 dual enrolled and post-secondary students for careers in aviation.

The mission of George T. Baker Aviation Technical College is to provide training to persons interested in aviation maintenance, electronics, and avionics to become an integral part of industry.
To accomplish this mission, the school must enhance the curriculum, utilize industry resources, encourage students to obtain their Federal Aviation Administration certificates or Federal Communications Commission license, and place students in jobs that are related to their training.

Admissions

George T. Baker Aviation Technical College's overall admission policy provides all students an opportunity to complete a vocational program with no preconceived perception of their ability to achieve. Students are counseled on academic expectations and basic skills requirements. Any person at least 16 years of age who has graduated or withdrawn from high school may enroll as an adult student.

Registration Information

Students wishing to register in Adult Education Program must be 16 years of age or older and withdrawn from K-12 school. All students must complete an application for registration online or at the school site. Depending on graduation status, the student may be waived from the Adult Basic Skills Test (TABE.).
Financial Aid
Report
The financial aid programs provided by Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) postsecondary educational centers make it feasible for students who would normally be deprived of a career/technical education, due to limited funds, to obtain the education they require. This is based on the principle that a postsecondary education should not be a privilege reserved only for those who can afford it.
