Founded in 1994 by Bernadette Campbell, our dance school has dedicated over three decades to nurturing young talent through ballet and dance education. We provide a Christ-centered environment where students develop technical proficiency, discipline, and a deeper understanding of dance terminology. Our 11,000-square-foot facility features five professional studios, viewing windows, and dedicated spaces for performances and rehearsals. We produce three annual performances at the Infinite Energy Center and offer international performance opportunities through our affiliation with Dance Acclaim.

In 2025, leadership transitioned to Savannah Botts, a former student and graduate of Brenau University, who continues our legacy of faith-based dance education while maintaining rigorous technical standards. Our faculty includes internationally recognized instructors with extensive performance and teaching experience.

Ballet

Our ballet program develops technical proficiency through structured classes from beginner to advanced levels. Students learn proper alignment, pointe work, and classical repertoire while building strength and flexibility. The curriculum emphasizes terminology mastery and performance preparation for annual productions.

Tap

Tap classes focus on rhythm, sound production, and musicality through progressive skill development. Students explore various tap styles while improving coordination and improvisational skills. Classes incorporate both traditional and contemporary tap techniques for ages 5 and up.

Jazz & Hip-Hop

This program teaches jazz fundamentals including isolations, syncopation, and performance quality. Hip-hop elements introduce street dance styles while building strength and endurance. Classes encourage individual expression within technical frameworks for students aged 5 and older.

Georgia Christian Dance Theatre

Our pre-professional company offers advanced training and performance opportunities for dedicated dancers. Members participate in three annual productions and receive specialized coaching for college and career preparation. The program maintains a Christian environment while developing technical excellence and artistic expression.

Ballet Conservatory of North Georgia

This intensive weekday program prepares serious dancers for professional careers through comprehensive training. Curriculum includes daily technique classes, repertoire, music appreciation, and dance history. Directed by former Berlin Ballet principal dancer Andrea Pell, the conservatory offers individualized attention for students aged 11+.

Bernadette Campbell

Founder

Founder of Buford School of Ballet with 35 years teaching experience. Former professional dancer with Lexington Ballet and affiliate member of American Academy of Ballet since 2008. Produced hundreds of award-winning students and established Georgia Christian Dance Theatre in 1997.

Savannah Botts

Artistic Director

Current Artistic Director with 15+ years teaching experience. Graduated magna cum laude from Brenau University with BFA in Dance Performance. Former student and protg of Bernadette Campbell, now leading the school while maintaining its Christian values and technical excellence.

Andrea Pell

Director

Director of Ballet Conservatory of North Georgia since 2017. Former Berlin Ballet principal dancer with 30 years teaching experience. Studied under Thalia Mara and American Ballet Theatre School. Coached international competition medalists and served as Atlanta School of Ballet Artistic Director from 1990-1997.

We offer classes for children as young as 2 years old through adult learners, with structured programs for every skill level.

Phenomenal studio for all ages of children. Instructors are students of their professional dance academy. Recitals are at a professional level and worth the time each student has spent practicing. We love BSB!! Three years and our grandlittle STILL loves ballet/tap.

I am Jennifes mom. I had been charged for 275 dollar for only took three class . The recital dress for 95 dollars . They refuse to return my money when I said to return the dress.It is high risk to take class due to Covid 19, but they didnt return my money. Only give me 70 credits for summer camp but I dont need it.It is unfair deal for me. It is bad experience for here.

This studio is excellent in teaching technique and uncompromising in their values. I never have to worry about whether my daughter's costume will be inappropriate or whether I would be ashamed of her dance moves. She has grown in her confidence with ballet. I am so happy we have found BSB and are looking forward to many more years there!

My daughter has danced here for over 8 years. She is now 12 and excels at ballet, pointe, jazz and tap. The teachers are caring, fun and professional! We love this wonderful studio!!

Both of my daughters love dancing. Buford School of Ballet offers them this exciting adventure in a Christian environment and temperment. Their year end recitals are nothing short of spectacular!
