Ballet
Our ballet program builds foundational technique through proper placement, alignment, and musicality. Students develop strength, grace, and discipline while progressing from pre-ballet to advanced pointe classes. The curriculum emphasizes both technical precision and artistic expression, preparing dancers for all other dance forms. Classes incorporate ballet terminology and progressive exercises to enhance range of motion and control.
Tap
Tap classes focus on musicality and footwork complexity, teaching both Hoofer and Broadway styles. Dancers learn progressive combinations that build balance, control, and rhythmic precision. Our curriculum develops auditory skills through syncopated patterns while maintaining technical accuracy in sound production. Students explore improvisation and performance techniques suitable for various tap genres.
Acro
Acro dance merges classical technique with acrobatic elements requiring flexibility and physical conditioning. Students master progressive skills on mats to build strength while learning to integrate tricks seamlessly into dance routines. Classes emphasize safety through proper progression, ensuring technical proficiency in flips, balances, and tumbling sequences within choreography contexts.
Hip-Hop
This urban style teaches breaking, locking, and popping techniques rooted in 1970s hip-hop culture. Classes develop rhythm, coordination, and personal style through crew-style choreography performed to contemporary and classic hip-hop music. Students learn foundational moves while exploring creative expression within traditional and modern street dance frameworks.
Lyrical
Lyrical classes combine ballet foundations with emotional storytelling through movement. Director
With training from San Diego State University and the San Diego School of Creative Performing Arts, Lynne brings 25+ years of experience teaching award-winning choreography. She coached Team USA for IDO World Tap Championships and holds the Miss San Diego 2004 title.
Brian Ingstad
Physical Training Specialist
Former professional baseball player Brian developed a dancer-specific training program enhancing flexibility, core strength, and mental resilience through his experience in competitive athletics and slow-pitch softball championships.
Xavier Hicks
Ballet Instructor
Principal dancer with California Ballet, Xavier trained at San Diego School of Creative Performing Arts and worked with renowned artists like Alonzo King Dunham while mentoring young dancers for over 15 years.
Hailey Price
Contemporary Instructor
National title-winning dancer Hailey trained with Travis Wall and Jason Parsons before leading Arizona State University's nationally ranked dance team, bringing expertise in contemporary and acro techniques to her students.
Jen Molina
Tap Instructor
With two decades teaching tap and ballet, Jen choreographed award-winning routines after studying under Sharon Keller and Lynne Ingstad, returning to share her renewed passion for dance education.

Yes, we offer a 10% sibling discount applied to the lower tuition cost when multiple family members enroll.

We accept students starting at 18 months through our Tots N Tutus program up to advanced teen levels.

We've been with SoCal Dance for 3 years now, and we couldn't imagine ourselves anywhere else. The staff is incredibly talented and care about the dancers and their families. They want to see your child to succeed and put their 100% in. It's more than a dance studio, it's a family. I highly recommend SoCal Dance and everything they stand for.

I have never felt more like I was supposed to be at a place then the 1st time I stepped into So Cal. Every value I try to instil in my 4 year old daughter they back it up, they are not only helping raise… quality dancers but also awesome kids. At SoCal they are easy to work with, they want to see your child grow and challenge them to be their best. As a mom watching the pure joy on your child face is something you strive to see everyday and I am so lucky I get to see my daughter having so much fun multiple times a week at SoCal

This is the Best dance studio. Everyone I’ve met is so nice. My daughter LOVES going to dance every week. Anyone looking for a great dance studio with friendly and amazing staff for their kiddos, this is it.
