Flaneur Wines
Flaneur Wines is dedicated to creating distinct and memorable Willamette Valley wines that tell the story of time and place with each sip. From our estate vineyards in Newberg to our Carlton winery, we invite our guests to come experience the gracious, unhurried life of the flaneur. Juicy, appealingly sweet and focused on the palate, offering boysenberry, black raspberry and vanilla flavors supported by a spine of zesty acidity.

Philosophy
Report
A flaneur is, quite simply, a leisurely wanderer, a worldly explorer, a connoisseur of life. The word, hailing from 19th-century France, captures the idea that the mind functions best at a slow pace, and that curiosity can uncover a life of significance. It is, as Charles Baudelaire wrote so eloquently, a life of juxtaposition: alone yet surrounded by bustle, slow yet continuously moving forward.
Winemaking
Report
We chose the rolling hills of the Willamette Valley of Oregon for a reason. The climate and environment of the region are unique, with daily fluctuations in temperatures and rainfall. One year is wet and cold, the next is dry and warm. We celebrate the eccentricities and unpredictability of nature, and want our wines to reflect this remarkable terroir.
Carlton Grain Elevator
Report
We are pleased to present the newest Pacific Northwest hospitality experience - Flaneur Wines at the Carlton Grain Elevator. The grain elevator has been an integral part of the Carlton and Willamette Valley community for more than 80-125 years. For a decade, the space sat unused in the center of town.
Flanerie
Report
An ode to the walk of the flaneur, our Flanerie Vineyard spans eight acres across Ribbon Ridge AVA, in the Willamette Valley. First planted with pinot noir in 2003, we purchased some fruit in 2013 for our first vintage and later acquired the entire span of land in 2014, marking the onset of our story.
La Belle Promenade
Report
If Flanerie Vineyard is a bass, La Belle Promenade Vineyard is a harmonious treble, singing bright, high tones that ripple through the Chehalem Mountains AVA. An exposed hilltop at a rocky 820 ft. Before we planted our first vines, the expansive plot grew lush cherries, prunes, and blackberries. At the time of our purchase in 2012, the orchard was long abandoned, holding only a ghost of a barn.
