I have been in the healthcare field since 2008; I eventually discovered my love for dentistry and switched to the dental field in 2010. My goal as the Scheduling Coordinator is to make sure that each person that calls or walks in the front door is made to feel welcome and cared for as possible; while making scheduling any appointment for either the doctor or hygienist as smooth as possible.

My name is Dr. Dave Carothers. I was born and raised here in Portland, Oregon. I went to high school at Portland Adventist Academy. I attended Portland State University and then went on to attend dental school at Loma Linda University in California, of which I am now an associate professor. After graduating in 1980, I continued my education with advanced cosmetic dental procedures at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Cosmetic Studies.

Why is my mouth so dry? People get chronic dry mouth when the glands that make saliva are not working properly. In addition to feeling uncomfortable, a dry mouth can lead to tooth decay because there isn't enough saliva to help wash away the food particles and bacteria.
