At 18, I was in Wildwood, New Jersey, for a first time ever week long vacation with my high school buddy, Chris. On Day 2, while body surfing, I whipped my head around to get the hair out of my eyes, (not a problem now) and my neck locked up. I knew my vacation was shot until Chris said, "Mike here is a Chiropractor, he can help you"!
I had no idea what that meant, and the next minute, I found out. The adjustment melted the stiffness and pain immediately. Within that hour, I knew I had been called to be a Chiropractor. In 1982, I opened up my practice in Philadelphia. My adjusting technique was pretty traditional. Palpate the spine and introduce forces by hand to correct subluxations.
