Flavors and aromas of black pepper, spicy berries, umami, licorice, caramel and lemon. Finishes fruity, fresh and clean. Conjures a young, lush, prehistoric earth. Still a bit 'young' seeming, even though it's now almost 10 years old! Dark dark dark, and dry. This wine is more austere than you might expect - the tannins are finally smoothing out and it has become a serious dinner companion.
