Donna Corder, MD

Dr. Donna Corder is the newest ophthalmologist to join Southern Eye Group. She received her M.D. from the Wayne State School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Detroit Medical Center in Michigan. Her fellowship in Orbit, Oculoplastic, and Reconstructive Surgery was at the Kresge Eye Institute.
Ronald L. Gross, MD

Dr. Gross, a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializes in treating patients for glaucoma. Dr. Gross's areas of special interests include glaucoma consultation and treatment, including surgery, eye disease screening, and population health. He was professor and chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Director of the WVU Eye Institute from 2013 through 2018.

Ayesha C. Kidd OD, FAAO, is a native of Vincent, Alabama located in Shelby County. After graduating as valedictorian of the class of 2000 at Vincent High school, Dr. Kidd matriculated to the University of Montevallo. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a psychology minor.
Hong Nguyen, OD

Dr. Hong Nguyen grew up in Houston, Texas where she graduated with a BBA in Management and a minor in Biology from the University of Houston. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences School of Optometry. Following her doctorate, Dr. Nguyen underwent extensive residency training in Primary Care/Ocular Disease at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Courtney Ray, MD

Dr. Ray is our newest physician to join the Southern Eye Group. He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He graduated from UC Davis where he majored in Biochemistry and completed medical school at Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.
