The Alabama State Board of Pharmacy was established by legislative action in 1887 with the intent that the composition of the board reflects the demographics of the pharmacy profession. This Board is vested with the authority to carry out the purposes of and enforce Title 34, Chapter 23 of the Practice of Pharmacy Act 205 and Title 20, Chapter 2 of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act.

The licensing process is different if you are a new Samford/Auburn grad, new out-of-state grad, reciprocating, or foreign graduate. Please read the instructions below that pertain to you. Go to the NABP website and download the Candidate Registration Bulletin. This bulletin will tell you how to create your profile on the NABP website and how to register for the NAPLEX and MPJE.
Intern/extern

When applying for your intern/extern license, you will be required to upload your driver's license, birth certificate (or passport if not born in the US), and verification of your pharmacy school enrollment. There is no cost for an intern/extern license. Once we receive your application, if all documents are submitted, we will then email you your intern/extern license, which will expire 6 months after your graduation date.
