If you want to save a couple thousand on installation and refinishing, Matt is definitely the way to go. I did save a couple thousand over anyone else's quote, and my refinished floors and new stairs look great - from a distance. Unfortunately, they didn't tell me my baseboards would be ruined. They came late on a number of days, and the whole process took twice the quoted time. Some of that was due to weather, but not all of it. The stain in some areas doesn't even go to the baseboard so we can see the old stain color. The newel post cutouts are uneven leaving gaps and the stair treads are rough

Matt's fantastic. He's doing what he was born to do. Before we hired him, I asked him how he got such good reviews and he said something like this, "It's pretty simple. I just do what people ask me to do and do it well." He's refreshingly competent, affordable and pleasant. Be sure to remove everything from any room getting refinished - that dust does get everywhere! All the time I spent covering shelves in plastic would have been better spent taking the things out of the room.

Positive:Quality
Matt came out to give us a estimate on taking carpet out of three rooms and blend the new hardwood with the existing. When he walked in he realized he had done the original floors for the prior owner. He did a great job of blending the new with the old like it was always there !
