Services
Acupuncture
Acupuncture uses fine needles to stimulate specific points on the body, promoting natural healing and pain relief. This traditional Chinese medicine technique helps regulate energy flow and address various health conditions. Patients benefit from reduced inflammation, improved circulation, and balanced nervous system function through regular treatments.
Zen BodyTherapy
Zen BodyTherapy combines deep tissue work with movement therapy to realign the body's structure. This 10-session program addresses chronic pain and postural imbalances through hands-on manipulation of connective tissues. Clients experience improved mobility, reduced stress, and enhanced body awareness through progressive alignment sessions.
Physio-Synthesis
Physio-Synthesis employs corrective movement patterns to restore natural body alignment and muscle balance. This therapeutic system strengthens weak muscles while releasing tension through specific exercises. Patients achieve better posture, increased energy levels, and long-term structural improvements through consistent practice.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion applies heat from burning mugwort herb to acupuncture points, enhancing circulation and pain relief. This warming technique complements acupuncture treatments by addressing cold-related conditions and energy stagnation. Patients benefit from reduced muscle tension and improved digestive function through targeted heat application.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy uses gentle suction to release muscle tension and improve blood flow. This technique helps alleviate chronic pain and inflammation through localized pressure release. Patients experience immediate relief from tightness while promoting long-term tissue healing through enhanced circulation.

My wife saw a half dozen physical therapists over a decade, but no one really helped with a long-term solution until she saw Engstrom. So when my knee was giving me a lot of trouble, I went to see him first. In a single session he analyzed the situation and gave me a path to recovery. Haven't had a problem since. This guy understands how bodies work (and what to do when they don't).

I went to David after finding out that I may need back surgery. After looking at my MRI and my skeletal structure - David had a few things in mind before jumping the gun to surgery. He took his time, was very comforting and most importantly I walked in with pain at an 8 and walked out at about a 3. He took extra time from his day to make sure that I left comfortable and relieved. I will continue to go see David as I think that he is extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. He personally phoned me the day that I made a request for an appointment and followed up promptly by email once

I started seeing David after I was tested for ALS at the UW. I was told by my physician that acupuncture would help dealing with my symptoms. I started with Dave about a year and half ago. I have made dramatic improvements in my energy and my symptoms are less. Now I am getting back into exercise, he has help me with that. He really listens to his patients and works with them to fix systemically what is wrong. I cannot recommend Dave highly enough.

I've been to see Dave on many occasion, usually when I've managed to mangle myself up. We came across Dave as a reference from our local Naturopath and my wife was the 1st to visit. She did a full 10 session "treatment" with Dave and she has never felt better. I went a few times later for neck and back adjustments and it was certainly a different experience. Dave specializes in Tui Na, a Chinese form of manipulative therapy. He basically gets in there, reorganizes your muscles and connective tissue, which in turn gives you better posture, better range of motion and in my case
