Here at David Deaton Karate Studios, we first opened our doors for business in 1970, making 2020 our 50th year in business! We humbly thank you for allowing us to serve the communities of Middle Tennessee by providing a safe and secure environment for teaching self-defence to children, teens, and adults over the past half century.
And we look forward to seeing what our futures together will hold. Children from 6-9 years of age love our karate classes! We teach both boys and girls instill the benefits of self-defense and respect into every karate class. Our instructional karate classes for Juniors (ages 9-14) help build strength, self-respect, and the confidence young adults need to face life challenges.

Karate classes are separated by age group and skill level so there are multiple class options to choose from. And if you miss one, our schedule includes opportunities to make them up.

Little Dragons

One of the most common questions we hear at David Deaton Karate is, "How young can a child be to start learning karate?" The short answer is, children as young as four years old can start learning karate in our Little Dragons karate program. That said, we have a qualifying process that every child goes through to ensure they are ready to go through our program.

Over the last 50 years, David Deaton has developed a curriculum that has been proven to be easily learned and mastered but, more importantly. We expect our summer camp classes to fill quickly and we want to include your friends or other family members first. Thank you for your interest but enrollment for our special 2021 Summer karate camps have closed.
