The PIT Idaho is a mixed martial arts gym where people of all ages, sizes, and abilities learn, practice, and enjoy the most effective martial arts and fitness program. We have something for everyone in the Treasure Valley! Here at The PIT Idaho, you'll learn practical martial arts while getting into peak physical condition.

The PIT was started in 1985 in Woodland Hills, CA by John Hackleman. He started The PIT because he wanted people to learn a no nonsense martial arts and conditioning program. All he asks is that you give Kempo and The PIT the respect and loyalty it gives you. Confidence, loyalty, and humility are what he expects from all PIT Monsters.
Hawaiian Kempo

Hawaiian Kempo is a belt promotion based Martial Art. It is a traditional, yet progressive style that is ever evolving and adapting. Hawaiian Kempo was created for both self-defense and sport/fitness. Adults will learn beginning to advanced Kempo technique while also increasing fitness ability and self-esteem.

Our Kids program focuses on building a solid foundation of Hawaiian Kempo technique and physical conditioning/fitness. Our program highlights discipline, focus, respect, and self-esteem. We make sure your kids have FUN every day in class while instilling values of integrity and strong work ethic. We pride ourselves on making our kids safe, confident, and healthy.
Brazilian-Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground based martial art free of any strikes (punches/kicks). The goal is to control a resisting opponent in ways that force him/her to submit. You'll learn how to take your opponent down to the ground, defend take-downs, submissions/submission defenses on the ground, and how to gain dominant control.
Fitness Kickboxing

Fitness Kickboxing is made to help you reach top physical shape while you learn kickboxing technique. It is a fast paced workout that will push you to your limit and help you achieve mental and physical toughness.
