Melissa Mathews taught at Norbeck for 16 years before taking the Head of School role. She majored in Elementary Education at University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Shortly after graduating, Melissa became a teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) where she taught Kindergarten, second and fifth grades for six years.

Norbeck Montessori is a private preschool that employs approximately 25 full-time and part-time faculty and staff members. All our Montessori teachers have degrees and have received the Montessori Credential from an accredited Montessori Institute. We are very proud to say that many of our faculty and staff members have been with us for over 15 years, and several have been with us for over 20 years.
